One BIG guy!

These are the final highlights of our trip.  I can't believe it's taken me a month to finish posting about our Yellowstone trip. But life has been crazy lately.  I have so many other photos that I could literally spend a few more posts to show you. But I would encourage you to go and see for yourself. It's just a really beautiful place to enjoy all of God's creations.

Oh give me a home, where the Buffalo roam

In order to get to some areas of federal land where there are hiking trails, one must cross Ted Turner's many properties.  He owns thousands upon thousands of acres all around this area.  On this particular day we were heading out to do some hiking in the Spanish Creek area and we had to cross Ted Turner's Ranch where there are literally thousands of free ranging buffalo.  They are everywhere, including on the road.  I could seriously reach out my window and touch them if I dared.  It was an amazing sight to see.  Better than the buffalo I've seen in Yellowstone.

There were buffalo of all ages.  We stopped and watched two old grand daddy buffalo butt heads with each other for a while.  Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of that.

We really enjoyed the drive.  The scenery was beautiful and to see all those buffalo up close and personal was just an amazing sight.   It reminds me of this song.....

Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day

Home, home on the range
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day
