Segment #3 - Yellowstone Trip

Just a quick note before I go into our Yellowstone trip, I just want to get this written.....  I received my final grades for this session of classes and as expected I have maintained my 4.0 GPA.  What I didn't expect was receiving a 100% on both of my final projects.  I am so happy!  Some may feel that I am bragging.  It's my blog so I can brag if I want to!   I just don't understand why I didn't do this in high school.  I guess it's never too late, right?

I have been enjoying a much needed break from school.  Just working and relaxing!  Except I have also been sick.  I had the stomach flu one day last week that kept me home from work, and then this weekend I have been dealing with an inner ear infection.  This has left me with fluid in my ear and having my equalibrium being off which means I have been extremely dizzy.  It has not been fun.  Bill finally did and ear candle on both my ears and relieved most of the gunk in my ears (I'll spare you the details).

Now for our trip to Yellowstone.  We spent 3 days there so I will still have to break this into more segments.  This post in and of itself will be fairly long with all the pictures I have chosen to include, so bear with me.  I just hope you enjoy the beauty and fun that I captured.

On the way to Yellowstone we made a couple photo-op detours.  My MIL is a photographer and so much time was spent with the windows down,  her head hanging out the window, and plenty of stop and go's.

We drove by fly fishermen fishing the Gallatin River

Hebgen Lake (near West Yellowstone)

Just goofing off!  Can you see my reflection?

I liked this picture of DH

Quake Lake

This lake was created by an earthquake in 1959.  That mountain in the background slid.  The trees you see are actually tops of trees that used to be part of a forest.  The lake is over 120 feet deep.  Go here for more interesting information about this lake.

The slide

As we entered Yellowstone Park the first thing we saw were these beauty's.....

Elk

Love the geese in the background

This coyote was hunting his next meal.

This is my MIL and this is how you would find her the whole weekend!

Another shot of MIL behind the camera

Dad & Mom Carpenter

Old Faithful Geyser

Dad & Mom loved the beauty of Yellowstone

Self portrait of me and my sweetie

Bald Eagle

Such beauty

I told you!
Love this Lady

Check this out....  Papa Elk

Isn't he a beauty?

Eat your heart out Gordon!

I want her camera!

This is my favorite.  The pictures don't do it justice.
The water is bluer than you could ever imagine.

LOL!  I just had to take this one.
We called them the "Nair Boys"...
"Who wears short-shorts"?
I know... I am bad!  But hey... I just had to!

Moi

My dear sweet husband

This was just the first day and part of the second day of our trip.  I took over 600 photos.  I am only posting a few of them, but deciding on which ones to post is proving to be very difficult.  If you have never been to Yellowstone National Park, I would recommend you take a vacation and do it.  I've been there several times in my life and can't ever get enough of it.  The scenery is breathtaking.  The wildlife is awesome.

I will post another segment soon.

Great memories. Congratulations on grades and final papers. I always knew you could do it, but there was too much fun to be had while in high school. Back then parents weren't smart enough for you to listen to either, jk. Glad that you're doing so well. Proud of you.
Looks like such a fun time in Yellowstone with your in-laws. Beautiful pictures. Keep them coming.

I have so many great memories of Quake Lake. Every time we would go fishing up in Montana with Grandpa Wilkinson, we'd make a stop there. Love your pictures. Especially of the wild life. :)
